October 27, 2023 Eghosa Arasomwan | Staff Writer
In today’s article, I will be interviewing Mr. Rubin. I chose to interview Mr. Rubin because he is a very good person who helps students and I wanted to learn more about him. I had conducted the interview in Journalism Class on Friday, October 13, 2023.
E.A. : What made you want to become a teacher?
Mr. Rubin: I wanted to help the children learn something different, from what they see from the outside everyday.
E.A. : What is a valuable life lesson that you’ve learned that you would want to pass on to others?
Mr. Rubin: Always be yourself, and always be true to yourself.
E.A. : What was your favorite memory/proudest moment from teaching?
Mr. Rubin: Seeing some of my students graduate, and going into their professional lives, and seeing them be happy people.
E.A. : What made you want to get into acting?
Mr. Rubin: I love language, I love words, I love being able to tell stories, I like poetry, I love hip-hop, and so I love word play. I love metaphors, I like similes, I love the creativity that you can play with language, and I also like the way that you can embody emotions, and embody characters, and just play because that is what theater is.
E.A. : What do you dislike/like about acting?
Mr Rubin: I don’t get paid enough.
E.A. : What types of foods are your favorite?
Mr. Rubin: My favorite food is probably a good hamburger and fries. Usually I like chicken and a lot of broccoli. My guilty pleasure is cookies.
E.A. : What are your favorite hobbies?
Mr. Rubin: Of course acting, but I also like to build models. I had previously coached my nephew’s football team, which I thought was really really fun. I like to travel, I like to hike, I like to roller skate, I like to workout, I love lifting weights which is something that is really fun for me. I like to go on adventures, and I also like to explore new things. I like watching a lot of Attack on Titan and One Piece. Then I started watching ESPN because I’m still very interested in sports, even though I might not follow sports as intensively as I used to. I also like playing a lot of video games, but it’s something that I don’t really really like.
E.A. : What are your favorite sports?
Mr. Rubin: My favorites are football and basketball. I am also watching baseball, and I’ve been watching a little bit of hockey lately. Although for me football and basketball are the ones that catch my attention more than other sports.
