WCHS fall food drive helps families in need

From October 30th to November 3rd, Westlake Charter School organized a fall food drive to support people who can’t afford food. This drive was organized in the K-8 and WCHS campus.
A food drive is a form of charity that is conducted by a group of individuals or a corporation to stockpile and distribute foodstuffs to people who cannot afford food. The reason why the food drive exists is because it not only provides food but it also spreads awareness of the need to fight hunger in our communities. It is a great activity for business, schools, clubs, place of worship, and community events.

Around the world, McDonald’s, Starbucks, and the Walt Disney Company are getting boycotted by Palestinian supporters after providing aid to Israel, or supporting Israel in general when the Hamas attack happened on October 7th, 2023.
When Hamas attacked Israel on October 7, McDonald's began giving free meals to the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) - offering discounts to soldiers, and has so far given out approximately 100,000 free meals to Israel. After several social media posts, many Palestinian supporters began to boycott McDonald's for its support of Israel. Palestinian supporters have also been protesting and propagating the concept of boycotting McDonald's, which has resulted in images on the right. Now, many McDonald's owners are suffering because of the boycott going on.
